Principal's Message

Welcome to Wilson Elementary School

Welcome to Wilson Elementary School. For over 100 years our school community has been providing excellence in educational experiences that has left a lasting legacy.
The area of Logan known as "The Island" gets its name from its geography. It is one of Logan's oldest neighborhoods, and historically it was surrounded by two branches of the Logan River, making it function like a true island.
As an elementary school we have incorporated this history into our theme this year:
100 Years Strong on Island
As we celebrate the centennial of the school we have so much to recognize. Here are just a few:
- Caring and Competent Teachers and Staff. The adults in our school work hard to make our school vision become a reality”
- “Our mission is to ensure all students leave our school ready to create a positive future for themselves and their community.”
- Academic Excellence. Our students 3-5 consistently score at or above on district and state assessment standards. Over 90% of our Kindergarten students meet early literacy benchmarks.
- Meaningful Learning Opportunities. We believe that experiences help enrich and expand learning. Our students annually learn at the Grizzly Pines Outdoor Learning Center in Logan Canyon. Our fifth grade students participate in Beaver Mountain Ski Day annually and also travel to Salt Lake City for Junior Achievement Biztown.
- Well-Rounded Learning. All of our students K-5 have access to Science (STEM), Music/ Art, PE, Media, and Computers weekly.
- Collaboration and Community. Stakeholders in our school (Teachers, staff, parents, etc.) work together collaboratively to help each student progress and succeed in academics, behavior, and community service.
As we begin this centennial year, we invite every family to become part of Wilson's next chapter. The remarkable story of Wilson Elementary was written by those who came before us, but its future will be written by the students, families, and educators who learn within the walls of our school today.
Together, we will honor our past, celebrate our present, and build a future worthy of the next 100 years.
Here's to 100 years of excellence on The Island—and to the countless lives that will continue to be shaped at Wilson Elementary for generations to come. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!
